The Blossom of Fiber Art 2011:Public Art Exhibition

Featuring the works of Needle Art Constructionists

The Blossom of Fiber Art is a two day public art exhibition that features the work of fiber and needle artist who construction works through the mediums of crochet, knit, felting, quilting and weaving. The Blossom of Fiber Art will utilize the natural landscape of Harlem’s St. Nicholas Park to display fiber soft sculptured floral arrangements and or plant life nested in Terracotta pots. With St. Nicholas’ Park as the back drop, the work of fiber art constructionist will continue a cycle of positive creativity and engage the community in the need to preserve through cultural arts and documentation.

Sat. June 25 – Exhibition
Sun. June 26 – Exhibition and Networking
All fiber and needle artists are invited to craft, talk and network with other constructionists on the Great Lawn of St. Nicholas Park.

The Blossom of Fiber Art is made possible in part with public funds from the Manhattan Community Arts Fund, supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and administered by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.
